Products Division

We strongly believe the best way to prove the value of an idea is to practice it; so we have created a Products Division that has already specified and designed an upgrade Product for the Card Payments industry that provides the optimum upgrade path for retailers to accept Payment by Contactless Cards. This emerging Technology has many applications and in Card Payments will be used widely for low-value transactions.

However, what's important is the Process we've gone through to get to this Product proposition; we have modelled the Card Payments Market, defined the Segments we want to address, specified the Product Solution we want to bring to Market, then positioned (differentiated) this Product away from current offerings to maximise the added value that we can bring.

The Card Payments industry is preparing to embrace Contactless Technology, which is aimed at increasing customer convenience and  PoS throughput Card Issuers worldwide have already delivered huge numbers of Cards that support both existing (Contact) and Contactless modes of operation.

However, having just invested in the mandatory upgrade to Chip & PIN, retailers are concerned that this may need to be written off; they may have to invest again in new, integrated PIN Entry Devices (PEDs) to accept the new Cards.

An alternative is a new, standalone Contactless Card Reader; this brings with it the inherent issues of reduced counter space and a confused user interface for your customers.

PoS Paddle allows Retailers to upgrade their existing Chip & PIN System to accept Contactless Cards (or other Contactless Payment devices such as mobile phones) at minimum cost and disruption, critical considerations for Retailers.

Since this is still an emerging Technology, it makes sense to be cautious when designing an upgrade path for existing Systems; philosophically, the ideal is to be able to add only the new Technology component, not replace existing Systems with whole new Systems. Indeed this may be best approach in the long-term too.
